Villagers stand around a pipe from which water flows from the pumping test

We dismantled the handpump on the grounds of the mission hospital in order to carry out a pumping test. It turned out that the original 46m deep well is now only 26m deep.

The pumping test also removed a lot of sand. At the end of the 24-hour pumping test, the well had become 31m deep again. Its capacity of 1,100 litres of water per hour is too low to be able to establish a water supply.

Hydrogeological Survey For a New Well As the well with the existing jump pump does not provide enough water for a water supply, a new well has to be drilled. In order to find the most suitable location on the mission site, we have carried out a hydrogeological survey. We marked two locations so that they could be found later by the drilling team. + + +
