In the community of Lwamgasa, Tanzania, we planted a tree today as a sign of future cooperation.

The municipality of Lwamgasa is about 1.5 hours away from Geita (Tanzania). The gold rush has broken out in the nearby surroundings. Private persons try their luck with the search for gold. Mercury is used to bind the gold dust from the rock. As a result, the near-surface groundwater is contaminated with mercury over a large area. In the municipality of Lwamgasa we are planning to drill a deep well to get clean water. This water will then be used as drinking water in the community.
